Many commercial solar system owners are under the impression that once their solar system is installed they can forget about it because the products have warranties. Unfortunately, this can provide a false sense of security as most equipment warranties come with several limitations which can render the warranty void just when you need it. The most common limitation is that the equipment needs to be installed and maintained in line with the instructions in the respective product manual. This means you need to treat your solar system no differently to how you’d treat a car warranty with regular servicing to ensure it remains valid.
Our installers are veterans of the solar industry, installing solar systems that range from commercial rooftop grid connect projects to some of Australia’s largest and most complex off-grid solar systems. As such they are also registered Solar PV System Auditors and regularly conduct audits of systems on behalf of the Australian Government (Clean Energy Regulator). As further testament to the quality of our maintenance work is our valued clients, including the likes of the Queensland Government, University of Queensland and CSIRO.
An audit by the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) on Clean Energy Regulator investigations show that as many as 1 in 6 of solar systems are substandard and require maintenance to ensure they comply with current safety standards and maximise returns.
